Our Commitment
Our families provide us with our unique blueprint. They shape who we are and who we strive to become. For many traditional families, supporting each other as we age is rooted in our cultural DNA. How many of you recall learning about your grandparents caring for their great-grandparents? Or perhaps witnessing your parents caring for your grandparents? This long-standing tradition of supporting the older generations, which has existed for centuries, is a testament to our respect and appreciation for our elders.
In recognition of this time-honored tradition, Eva's Rose, a non-profit organization, was conceptualized and founded in 2024 by seasoned caregiving professional Shaleta Freeman. With a background working in the home care sector, Shaleta witnessed first-hand the struggles many senior citizens and those with disabilities faced when seeking compassionate, dignified, and affordable care in Montgomery, Alabama. Motivated to address these disparities, Shaleta dove head-first into establishing Eva's Rose, a non-profit organization that assists society's most vulnerable. With her mantra of moving away from the most basic of caregiving, Eva's Rose pushes the boundaries and re-defines the essence of ensuring that those aged 65 and over receive empowering care rooted in dignity, compassion, companionship, connection, integrity, and excellence.
In keeping with family customs, the non-profit organization is named Eva's Rose. Eva in honor of Shaleta’s late great-grandmother, and Rose the name Shaleta’s great-grandmother called her grandmother; hence, the name Eva's Rose. Creating Eva's Rose enabled Shaleta to pay homage to her upbringing, heritage, and culture while celebrating the caregiving that her grandmother gave to her great-grandmother. Coupled with her own experience running a high quality home care agency named - Care Help Home Care establishing Eva's Rose was the next appropriate step.
Eva's Rose bridges the gap in the caring-giving market for families on low-to-moderate incomes who can't afford the astronomical private home care fees. We also provide a fundamental service, even for families who don't qualify for care services offered by the state or government officials. We provide personal care, homemaker and companionship services.
